Similar to other indigenous peoples, the Bushmen have become victims of modernisation, having being removed from the land to which they are the most entitled. They have been persecuted and are experiencing cultural genocide.
Clive Horlock together with Roots & Journeys have introduced a number of initiatives to both improve the general well-being of the clan with which they work, and to keep the Bushmen culture alive.
The clan are encouraged to bring young people to Tsau Hill so that the elders can use the opportunity to pass on their knowledge, skills and values to the next generation.
“Creating awareness of the plight of indigenous peoples is considered our moral duty and we hope to encourage other parties to contribute towards a better future for these marginalised and dispossessed people”.
