Background

Clive Horlock, has introduced the word ‘Sansense’, as a result of the time he has has spent with Bushmen, resulting in many profound revelations, which include:

  • Their ability to display remarkable resilience and acceptance.
  • Simplicity and gratitude was part of  everyday life
  • That they have lived in Africa for tens of thousands of years without causing any damage to the environment.
  • A knowledge of, and respect for the environment – essential for any species to survive
  • That although they owned nothing, and had no status, they exhibit/ed a level of contentment and happiness that eludes even the most ‘successful’ of modern humans today.
  • That they are/were the quintessential conservationists and exhibited what sustainable behaviour should look like.
  • That Sansense, or Ancient Wisdom, is conspicuous by its absence in modern teaching.
  • That Spirituality played an essential role in the acquisition of their common sense.

Sharing of SANSENSE

To explain the above requires an understanding of the human psychological mind. (Bearing in mind that biologically, the Bushmen mind is no different from any other modern human)

Investigations reveal that the San people were far more sophisticated than the general public has been led to believe. The focus of this research has been on trying to understand how the San managed to avoid planet destruction, and how their Ancient Wisdom might be applied to a Modern World. This, and much more, is shared through:

  • Immersive and interactive experiences.

These are provided in an unspoilt wildlife area in Botswana, where guests are able to interact with Bushmen for a period of 3-4 days. During this time guests will acquire a deeper understanding of the Bushmen philosophies and culture.

  • Presentations

To a wide range of audiences as the subject matter is relevant to all. ‘Sansense’ should be of particular interest to the younger generation who are experiencing anxiety with regard to their future and are desperately searching for hope.

Tsamkwa/tge is a good morning greeting used by the San people of Namibia. Translated it means “Are your eyes nicely open”. To open the eyes of humanity to the ineffable Truth, as seen by the San, is basically the purpose of sharing the Sansense concept.
