Different walking options are provided for guests to best meet their preferences.
The distances walked each day will depend on circumstances and items of interest spotted, but guests need to be comfortable with walking up to 15km (10 miles) per day.

Wildlife
Walking locations may vary depending on conditions and circumstances but most walks will be conducted on a private Game Farm selected for its classic Kalahari beauty and suitability for walking.
The farm has an abundance of plains game and beautiful birds which provide the opportunity for the Bushmen to demonstrate their uncanny tracking skills and knowledge of Africa’s wildlife.
Pristine Wilderness
Guests will walk in areas of Africa that are as untouched by man as is physically possible in the 21st century. The challenge, and responsibility, for Get Real Africa is to provide safe and informative Walking Safaris without compromising the environmental integrity of the Wilderness being shared. This means treading softly and leaving only footprints.

These three pioneers discovered that, while vehicle safaris provided a visual experience, a walking safari fostered a more ‘real’ African experience.
Furthermore, it is believed that for a walk to be most meaningful, a few days in the bush is required – away from modern-day trappings – in order to open the mind to the wonders of nature. This allows for a more holistic sensual experience, involving the senses of sight, sound, smell and touch; all of which enables one to find true meaning through connecting with nature.
The experience offered is thus based on those elements of Africa which have made the most impression on these ultimate conservationists, that is, the elements of the Real Africa without the frills and that which is often contrived. These elements include:
- real wilderness,
- wildlife in its natural habitat and
- the real people of Africa in their natural environment.
